WHAT IS A TV SITCOM?  As you could know, the term Sitcom is an abbreviation of Situational Comedy. This word is employed to define a specific type of comic, TV or radio series which shares the same characteristics between them. The argument of most situational comedies is the involvement and reaction of the characters to different comic and amusing situations. They are normally common conflicts of the daily life, with which you, as viewers, will enjoy. For this reason, situational comedies differ from other series in the direct participation of the public; maybe you are familiar with hearing the recorded laughs during the daily transmission. The number of main characters in these series are not more than 6 and their personalities play an important role for resolving those conflicts. Consistency : it is very rare that something ever changes in a Sitcom. If there are problems that the characters should overcome, at the end they always solve them and everything goes back to normal once again so … don’t panic! 2. No changes on the setting or the characters : the characters never change or develop and the situation happens almost always in the same spot/place (for you to not get lost!) 3. When there appear new characters , they are barely introduced to the audience and usually they only appear for short periods of time. Don’t get too  fond of them! 4. What’s up, readers? Today we will be discussing what might be the most popular sitcom at the present time. No, it’s not Modern Family… that one has only broadcasted 192 episodes. We are talking about Big Bang Theory, which has already screened 255 episodes since its pilot episode was successfully premiered on September 24, 2007. Since then, nothing seems capable of making it stop: their fans keep demanding more and more episodes! To be honest, the plot may look very simple at first sight: it just moves around the lives of two geniuses named Dr. Leonard Hofstader and Dr. Sheldon Cooper and how they are altered with the arrival of her new neighbor, Penny.
